The Richibucto River Association (RRA) is made up of a group of citizens whose main objective is the preservation and improvement of environmental quality of the Richibucto River. This concern extends to the entire drainage basin: the Main Richibucto River; the St. Nicholas River and its tributaries, South Branch, East Branch and West Branch; the Molus River; the Bass River; the Coal Branch; the St. Charles River and the Richibucto Harbour including Baie du Village and all the small rivers and streams draining in the harbour.

The RRA's membership is open to all citizens who either live on the drainage basin, or use the river system, estuaries or coastal area for their work or leisure. It is also open to industries that are located on the watershed.

The RRA's primary mission is to ensure that all members of the community become aware that the only way to achieve sustainable use and development is to become responsible users. Sustainable development can only be achieved by increasing our knowledge and sensitivity of the ecosystem, and by engaging in appropriate actions to restore, protect and enhance aquatic habitat.
